Lee Marvin ... what a great actor ... like Robert Mitchum, always played down his craft while being a real talent. Give me that over Method actors any day. Been in some of my favourite films ... Point Blank, Hell In The Pacific (actually, John Boorman has directed some fine films), Monte Walsh ... don't really see actors like that any more, everyone is controlled by PR.
I remember an interview with Boorman who was driving Marvin somewhere, and he insisted on travelling hanging on to the roof-rack. A traffic cop stopped him and said "Do you know you have Lee Marvin on the roof of your car?".

I remember that interview ... it's a question that, even when Lethal Lee was alive, you didn't get asked every day.
