Trinity

I did this montage/collage(?) a very very long time ago, rediscovered it a while back and electronicly rebuggered it. I was a disturbed child, obviously. A proto-Goth. The bodies belonged to the Kray brothers, I seem to remember.

Actually I think it's a montage, but I'm not really sure what the difference is. Isn't a collage usually mixed media?

This is really marvellous. I love it. Something of Man Ray about it. Keep it coming.

Anyway, does anyone kno what the difference between montage & collage is? Or frottage? Isn't that putting yr nipples in a cheese-grater?

Montage - a cinematic device used to show a series of scenes, usually juxtaposing or superimposing many pictures or designs.

Collage - from the Francais word, 'coller' meaning to glue. Work made by gluing materials/scraps onto paper.

Frottage - now, don't get me started on that. But no cheese graters. That's just for Mickey Mouse.

Frottage: 'rubbing' over textural surfaces with pencils, charcoal, whatever...like brass-rubbing...Ernst used it a lot to get random/'automatic' textures in his paintings....
